"Governor Sol Aragones Pushes Industrial Agriculture as Laguna’s Economic Backbone"

LAGUNA --Governor Sol Aragones firmly underscored the importance of industrial agriculture in driving the province’s economic growth, highlighting its power to generate jobs, support farmers, and connect agriculture with industry for long-term development.

“Industrial agriculture is the major industry of Laguna. The 4th District thrives in agricultural production, while the 2nd District leads in industrial development. Together, they create a strong synergy that supports inclusive progress,” Governor Aragones emphasized in an interview on DZMM Teleradyo.

She pointed to Laguna’s abundant natural resources coconuts from San Pablo, various vegetables, lanzones, and rambutan as high-potential products that can be scaled and processed through stronger agricultural-industrial integration.

“Vegetable farming is a promising business in Laguna. We’re pushing for systems that integrate our farmers into the supply chain to ensure stable income and inclusive growth,” she added.

Governor Aragones also emphasized support for small vendors and micro-entrepreneurs. “During flag ceremonies, we make it a point to support local sellers rice cakes, native delicacies because it helps them earn and sustain their livelihood.”

With industrial zones already in place and the solid backing of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and her fellow public servants, Aragones envisions a Laguna that leads the way in industrialized and inclusive agriculture.BY Roy Tomandao
