"Ramon Ang of San Miguel Corp and Gov. Sol Aragones Meet to Address Laguna Flood Problem Without Cost to the Government"

Laguna Governor Sol Aragones held a strategic meeting with San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President and CEO Ramon S. Ang to tackle the long-standing flooding problem in various areas of Laguna. The discussion focused on implementing sustainable solutions without any financial burden on the provincial government.
Governor Aragones expressed her deep appreciation to Mr. Ang for his commitment to help the province address a challenge that has affected countless residents for decades. She emphasized that the partnership is a significant step toward the gradual but lasting resolution of flooding in affected communities.

“This collaboration reflects genuine public service. We are grateful to Sir Ramon Ang for his compassion for our people. We will work hand in hand to slowly but surely solve the flood problem,” Gov. Aragones said.
The plan will also have the support of Congressman Arman Dimaguila, whose advocacy likewise includes flood control and disaster preparedness. Other local officials and public servants are expected to join in this multi-sectoral effort, ensuring that the initiative covers both immediate and long-term measures.
Mr. Ang assured the provincial leadership that SMC is ready to share technical expertise, manpower, and resources to make the flood mitigation project successful. He highlighted the importance of engineering solutions that will not only address current flooding but also reduce the risk of future disasters.

The joint effort is expected to involve river dredging, clearing of waterways, and the installation of flood control infrastructure in strategic locations. All these will be undertaken in compliance with environmental standards to protect both communities and natural ecosystems.
Governor Aragones stressed that this partnership is a prime example of how the private sector and government can unite for the common good. “When we work together, we can make significant changes without straining public funds,” she added.

With the shared vision of a flood-resilient Laguna, the provincial government, San Miguel Corporation, and other public officials are determined to push forward with the initiative, aiming for progress that residents can see and feel in the coming years.
