PNPAAAI Collaborates with Metrobank Awardees and AFP in Community Outreach Program in Pag-asa Island
The Philippine National Police Academy Alumni Association Inc. collaborated with the Metrobank Outstanding Filipino Awardees and Armed Forces of the Philippines in the second iteration of the Guro, Pulis at Sundalo (Teacher, Police, and Soldier) Community Outreach Program (GPS2) on April 20, 2024 at Pag-asa Island located at the Municipality of Kalayaan, Palawan.
Lakan Gilberto DC Cruz, Chairperson '86, PNPAAAI and a Metrobank’s recipient of Country's Outstanding Police Officers in the Service (COPS) in 1999 and 2007 together with other awardees Lakan Rodelio B. Jocson '87 (COPS, 2014), Lakan Edgar Alan O Okubo '92 (COPS, 2013) and Lakan Byron F Allatog '01 (COPS, 2014) joined the delegation led by General Romeo Brawner Jr. PA, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos PN, Commander of the AFP Western Command (WESCOM) during the gift-giving activities and conduct of medical and dental services to the residents of the island, demonstrating their commitment to public service.
Other delegates present who had made the community outreach program successful were Mr. Philip Dy of Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI), Dr. Ernelea Cao of Network of Outstanding Teachers and Educators (NOTED), and representatives from TOPSOLDIERS, Police Officers Responsible for Organizing, Transforming, & Empowering Communities (PROTECT), One Meralco Foundation, Donate Philippines and PNP.
The GPS is a program that aims to inspire others towards positive change and facilitate community development through the united efforts of outstanding educators, soldiers, and police officers in the Philippines.(Kevin Pamatmat)
