Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A under the supervision of Regional Chief RHPU4A, PCOL ROMMEL C ESTOLANO, successfully carried out simultaneous anti-carnapping operations that resulted in the recovery of Seven (7) Motor Vehicles Recovered in the Provinces of Laguna and Rizal involved in the “Rent- Tangay, Rent-Sangla-Benta/ Bawi Scheme” and filing of appropriate charges in the Prosecutors Office.
On December 3, 2023, at around 03:00 PM, Mobile 417A on board PCMS Melvin Carran, PSSg Francis Fernando, Pat Renz Andaya, Mobile Section, PCpl Ian Nuestro, of Investigation Section, and Pat Mark Edward Lituaña, of Operation Section Conducted a follow-up operation that resulted in the recovery of two units Toyota Vios with Plate No. NGY1235 and Montero Sport NDE4966 in relation to the alleged Rent Tangay-Sangla Scheme transpired in Cabuyao City, Laguna.
Meanwhile, in a separate anti-carnapping police operation, on December 27, 2023, at about 05:03 PM on the same date, PMSg Jim Russel Almonte and PCpl Ian Nuestro led by PLT ARVIN S RAMOS of Investigation and Intelligence Section conducted a follow-up operations that resulted in the successful recovery of two units of Toyota Vios with Plate No. DAQ9683 and DBF4282 with alarmed owned by Mr. Ryan Joseph R. Landicho and Mr. Joey M Salomon.
Further, on November 28, 2023, at around 01:00 PM, a similar incident transpired at the same place a Toyota Vios 2021 with Plate No. DBF4282 owned by Mr. Salomon was also rented by Arlene Ballesteros for a duration of five days, scheduled to be returned on December 3, 2023. However, the latter failed to return the vehicle on the agreed-upon rental date, and her given phone number was not accessed, after evaluation of the documents presented the same was also encoded into HPG IMS with alarm no. 20231227002.
Likewise, On January 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM, complainant Christian Mateo y Lladones, male, of legal age, single, student, residing at No. 725 J. Sumulong St., Brgy San Juan, Morong Rizal with Special Power of Attorney from his mother (registered owner Anelia Lladones-Mateo, female, senior citizen), personally appeared before this office relative to his complaint against a certain JOSH VILLA “aka” Danney Rey M Ruiz, male, of legal age and a resident of Brgy Talipapa QC.
Mr. Valtiendaz revealed that he acquired the subject MV on December 19, 2023, in Brgy Talipapa, Q.C. from ALAINE AGDA y Vergara, male of legal age, with postal address at B23 L5, PH2 Mabuhay, Paliparan II, Dasmarinas, Cavite for the considerable amount of Php205, 000. 00. Mr. Valtiendaz further disclosed that he only bought the subject MV because it was accompanied by an original OR/CR. After explaining the status of the subject MV to Mr. Valtiendaz he opted to voluntarily surrender the subject MV to PHPT-Rizal. Subject MV is included in the List of Nationwide Alarmed MV in the HPG-IMS as failed to return (FTR) with Alarm Number ALM20240103001.
All the aforementioned motor vehicles are currently under the temporary custody of RHPU4A with the express consent of the drivers/possessors. They were further advised to coordinate with the unit to initiate appropriate legal action against the suspects. Likewise, the registered owners of the vehicles have also been notified to prepare the necessary documents for the prompt release of their impounded vehicles from the unit's impounding area.
Notably, all vehicles were easily recovered by the police authority with the help of GPS tracking device. HPG CALABARZON advised business sectors involved in Car Rental Business to install tracking device to monitor their vehicle on real time.
The successful recovery of these vehicles is a significant accomplishment for RHPU4A which shows a testament of the unit's commitment in conducting intensified Anti-Carnapping Operations through the leadership of PBGEN ALAN M NAZARRO, Director of the Highway Patrol Group, in line with the thrust of the CPNP’s strategy of implementing aggressive and honest law enforcement measures to combat carnapping, highway robbery, and other forms of criminality along the highways. via Roy Tomandao
