STA. CRUZ, LAGUNA — Laguna Governor-elect Sol Aragones spearheaded the grand opening of the Maliwat Medical Hub and Beauty Lounge, a pioneering healthcare and wellness facility owned by cardiologist Dr. Rojohn Maliwat and his wife, Mayda Maliwat, in Sitio Sampalucan, Barangay Babukal. The event underscored the province’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and promoting local entrepreneurship.
Established during the pandemic, the Maliwat Medical Hub has already made significant strides in community health. Equipped with advanced cardiac diagnostic tools such as ECG and 2D echocardiogram machines, the facility focuses on cardiovascular care while championing its advocacy, “Alagang Maliwat Medical Hub.” Mrs. Mayda Maliwat emphasized their mission to support public health programs, stating, “We aim to provide accessible, quality healthcare—especially for heart-related conditions—aligned with Governor Aragones’ priorities.”
Governor Aragones lauded the initiative, highlighting its role in her administration’s vision for medical tourism and localized healthcare. “Facilities like this are vital. Laguna residents no longer need to travel to Manila for specialized services,” she said. The governor also expressed gratitude for the hub’s donation of medicines to her “Akay ni Sol Botika” program, which distributes free medications to underserved communities.
Beyond medical services, the hub features a Beauty Lounge designed to promote holistic well-being. Celebrity makeup artist Dennis Santos, part of the lounge’s team, shared his enthusiasm: “Beauty and self-care are essential for mental health. We’re here to help residents rejuvenate and feel their best.”
The inauguration symbolizes a collaborative stride toward Laguna’s healthcare advancement, blending medical expertise, wellness, and community support. As Gov. Aragones concluded, “This is just the beginning. Together, we’ll make Laguna a model for health and prosperity.”
