SAN PABLO CITY — Mayor Vic Amante held the first public forum on the proposed move of city government offices from the old City Hall compound in Barangay VA to the new City Government Compound in Barangay San Jose.

The forum, held at the Convention Center, was attended by most of the City Council members.  Mayor Amante explained the reasons behind the initiative and the potential benefits for better public service.  He emphasized creating a more organized, modern, and accessible location for everyone.

The forum also addressed potential challenges, including costs, legal processes, and the impact on employees and residents.  A public comment period allowed citizens to share their perspectives.

The old City Hall building, built in 1940, was designed for a time with far less traffic, when horse-drawn carriages were common.  The city’s growth has led to significant congestion around the old building.  The proposed move is part of an initiative to ease traffic flow and improve city services.  This public forum is a key part of the local government’s decision-making process, ensuring transparency and public participation.
