Mayor Vince Soriano Withdraws Candidacy for Laguna's 4th District Representative, Vows Continued Public Service
Mayor Vince Soriano has officially submitted his Statement of Withdrawal to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Laguna Provincial Office. He announced his decision to withdraw from the congressional race for the 4th District of Laguna, stepping back from the electoral competition scheduled for May 12, 2025. Despite not pursuing the congressional seat, Soriano reaffirmed his commitment to remain actively involved in public service.
Soriano will continue his role as Provincial Chairman of the Lakas-CMD Party in Laguna. He emphasized that he will serve as Chief Strategist, Adviser, and Campaign Operator for party members, particularly those representing the 4th District. His strategic leadership aims to strengthen the party’s efforts in the region and ensure that their advocacies and programs reach more people.
In addition to his work with Lakas-CMD, Soriano will remain the District Coordinator for Tingog Partylist in the 4th District. This means that crucial social services such as MAIP, AKAP, AICS, TUPAD, and GIP will continue to be provided to the residents of the district's 16 municipalities. Soriano underscored that one does not need to run for office to make a meaningful impact on the community.
He expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported his campaign, acknowledging their unwavering dedication, love, and care. Soriano assured his supporters that his mission to promote the welfare and progress of the district remains steadfast. He urged everyone to continue working together for the collective goal of uplifting the lives of all residents.
For now, Soriano shared his desire to spend quality time with his family, taking a brief respite from politics. He asked for understanding as he takes these next few days to enjoy moments with his loved ones without the pressure of political commitments. With heartfelt thanks, he reiterated his dedication to the people and his vision for a better, more prosperous district. (Kevin Pamatmat)
