STA. CRUZ, LAGUNA (March 6, 2024) — In a concerted effort to guarantee the safety and success of Anilag Festival 2024, the Laguna Provincial Police Office (LPPO) has undertaken a significant augmentation of its police force, according to Provincial Director Gauvin Mel Y. Unos.
This move is aimed at reinforcing security measures during the festival week from March 10 to 17, Unos told Manila Standard.
He said LPPO has augmented its strength with 500 additional policemen.
The decision to bolster the police presence is rooted in the commitment to ensure the safety and security of everyone participating in or attending the festival.
“Anilag has grown to attract thousands of spectators and participants, creating the need for heightened security measures to prevent untoward incidents and to ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration,” Unos said.
While the primary focus of this augmented security force is to maintain order and provide assistance, it is also essential for festival-goers to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement authorities. In the event of an emergency or suspicious activity, festival attendees are encouraged to report such incidents promptly.
Recently, the Laguna PPO was awarded Best Provincial Police Office by the Calabarzon Region IV-A Police Office for the first quarter of 2024, besting four other provinces in the region: Cavite, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
